About Me
I’ve had quite the varied career so far – a privilege when I look back on the experience I’ve gained, the places I’ve visited and the incredible people I’ve met along the way.I studied geology at university, going on to specialise in Natural Hazards (MSc). This brought me to Glasgow, where I worked for a structural geology consultancy, looking at how their software could be used to find natural resources. After this, I took a bit of a detour into the civil service, working on renewable energy schemes, before heading back into academia.I started a NERC-funded PhD in Volcanology, but realised quite early on that I enjoyed the teaching and communications side the most. I reached out to the BBC Science Unit in Glasgow and started a work placement. I got the TV bug very quickly! After a year and a half, I decided to leave the PhD and move into production full-time.Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of factual and science projects, developing a broad set of skills along the way. I can get stuck into the editorial side, researching, developing and shaping stories, but I’m equally comfortable with the practicalities of production - coordinating people and locations, managing competing priorities and getting things over the line. I’ve worked with a variety of stakeholders; scientists, academics, broadcasters, organisations and contributors, across a huge range of subjects, and I’m always interested in finding the story in something complicated. I think that breadth of experience has given me a useful mix of editorial instinct, practical know-how and the ability to see the bigger picture, while still keeping the story centre stage.

Electric Violet for YouTube. Series 18. June – Present. Part time.
Qatari YouTube competition series about the next innovation in science and technology. I have been brought in as a science specialist to assess applications for scientific rigour, ambition, and novel quality. My notes and opinions contributed to the interviews and selection process.
Sunday Times Feature
June 2026
Worked under journalist Deborah Cohen to find case studies for a feature on perimenopause. 3 days.
NDA Development project
Tern TV for National Geographic. January 2026. 3 weeks.
Brought in as a science specialist to research and collate information for a human life science series for National Geographic. Role included talking to subject experts, bringing them and institutions on board, and writing up accessible briefing docs on complex science topics.
Bro’s in Control
BBC Children’s & Families for CBBC. July 2025. 3 weeks.
Brought in as someone who works well under pressure and can deliver quickly. The main series was behind schedule, so I came in to set up shoots around the UK with very little time. I went on to work up a special Christmas episode with very little content from seniors. The preliminary work built the base for the episode, which went on to be shot later that year.HIGHLIGHTED LONGER PROJECTS

Anniversary special on the creation of the clone Dolly the sheep. I directed, produced and edit produced this 1 hour special.
Disease X: Hunting the Next Pandemic
STV for BBC 2. Dec 24 - Aug 25.
One off special for the BBC's Horizon strand on where the next pandemic virus might come from. I produced this international programme, working with high profile talent.

Selected as one of 25 participants from 200 UK applicants. The programme includes FX6 camera training, edit producing training, industry masterclasses and an 8-week PD placement.
